Suburban Collection Showplace

Phenomenal Weekend! Incredible Guests, Great Vibe (Just Fix the Cell Service!) ​I had a truly phenomenal time at Motor City Comic Con this year. The event organization was smooth, the atmosphere was fun, and the vendors were great, but the celebrity guest list was the real standout. ​I was thrilled to meet and getting my special copies of movies signed by Jamie Kennedy (Scream), Rose McGowan, and the entire Starship Troopers cast, including Michael Ironside, Casper Van Dien, Dina Meyer, and Amy Smart. Getting a signature from Alan Tudyk (K-2SO from Rogue One/Wash from Firefly) was the cherry on top for my son for his Christmas Gift. Everyone was genuinely engaging, making the wait in line worth it. ​My only complaint, and it’s a big one for a massive public event: the cellular reception is nonexistent inside the building. Having to pay $10 for Wi-Fi access just to look up schedules or send a text message is disappointing and needs to be fixed. ​That said, the overall experience was five stars. It’s a cool place, a cool event, and the vibe was so friendly that I met a great girl who was also there alone, and we ended up hanging out together the entire day. I highly recommend it—just plan ahead for your connectivity!

This was my first time there. Really had a wonderful time taking my daughter and her classes mates to the show. Looking forward to the next show in May 2026.

The suburban collection showplace is a fantastic venue, thoughtfully situated for ease of access. Its central location ensures proximity to a wide array of hotels and dining establishments. Furthermore, the availability of convenient bathrooms adds to the overall positive experience for all visitors. This well-appointed facility truly prioritizes visitor comfort and convenience. We are delighted with the thoughtful planning that has gone into its design.

We had a lot of fun at the Jurassic Quest event! Our toddler really enjoyed the dinosaur ride, even though the line was quite long. It was a bit crowded, but there was so much to do! Two bounce houses (one small and one bigger), LEGO stations, a digging area, a small play zone with slides, a golf play area, a toy shop, and more. Overall, we loved the experience. After all the walking around the expo, we grabbed some food and snacks. Pizza , fries, and drinks were available, which was convenient. We also had our 3-month-old with us, and he slept through most of it in his stroller, which made things much easier. Definitely worth it, especially for families with toddlers and young kids.
