New shooter took their first class — proud moment
Took my wife to their first intro to firearms and they outshat me honestly. The instructor was very safety focused.
Best money I ever spent.

Glad to hear the instructor emphasized safety - that's the foundation everything else builds on. Just curious, did they cover any of the legal aspects of firearms ownership? Storage requirements, transport laws, that kind of thing? Sometimes the basic classes don't get into that stuff but it's pretty important to know.
Love hearing success stories like this! Getting the whole family involved is the best way to go. You should bring her to one of the gun shows here in DFW - tons of training opportunities and gear to check out. Plus the prices on ammo are usually better than retail if you know where to look.
That's awesome man! Always love seeing new shooters come to the range, especially when they take it seriously from day one. Sounds like you found a good instructor too - safety first attitude is everything. Your wife's got natural talent apparently! Now the trick is keeping her interested and maybe getting her into some competitive shooting down the road.
This is exactly what we need more of! Good on you for getting professional instruction right from the start instead of just winging it. And don't be surprised she outshot you - I see it all the time. Women tend to listen better to instruction and don't have as much bad technique to unlearn. If she's interested, look into some local IDPA matches once she gets more comfortable. The community is super welcoming to new shooters.
Agree 100%. Had the exact same experience with my setup.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
Can you share more details on your setup? I'm trying to decide between a few options right now.
