New shooter took their first class — proud moment
Took my teenage kid to their first NRA Basic Pistol and they outshat me honestly. The instructor was a great communicator.

Nothing better than sharing the range with family! I bet they're hooked now. There's something special about that first time everything clicks and the shots start going where you want them to. Congrats on raising a shooter!
That's awesome! Young shooters often do great because they don't have bad habits to break yet. They just listen and do what the instructor says. Keep nurturing that interest - maybe look into some junior shooting programs in your area.
This is exactly how we grow the shooting community! Great job getting them started with proper instruction. The fact that they outshot you just means you raised them right lol. Keep encouraging them - we need more young people in the sport.
Love hearing stories like this! Getting the next generation into shooting safely is what it's all about. NRA Basic Pistol is a solid foundation course - sounds like you found a good instructor. Kids pick up the fundamentals so fast when they're taught right.
My two cents — don't overthink it. Just get what feels right in your hand and train with it.
I had the opposite experience honestly. But everyone's different I guess.
Can you share more details on your setup? I'm trying to decide between a few options right now.
This is the content I come here for. Thanks OP.
That's a steal at that price honestly. I paid way more for mine.
