Indoor vs outdoor range — preferences
I shoot at both but prefer outdoor because more freedom. The indoor near me doesn't allow rapid fire.
What type of range do you use and why?

I use both but prefer outdoor for competitions. Indoor is convenient for weeknight practice though, especially in winter. The rapid fire restriction is annoying - how else you gonna practice your IDPA strings? Some indoor ranges are getting better about it but yeah... outdoor gives you way more options for training scenarios.
Been using the indoor range near me while I wait for my permit to come through. It's convenient but expensive - $20 for an hour plus ammo. Outdoor sounds way better but there's only one within driving distance and it's members only. Maybe once I get my CWP I'll look into joining.
Outdoor all day long. Way more freedom and I can test my reloads properly without some RO breathing down my neck about "rapid fire". Plus I like shooting steel at 300+ yards which you can't do indoors. Only use indoor ranges in winter when it's too nasty outside. The ventilation is always questionable too - rather deal with wind than breathe lead particles.
You should check out the Kimber Micro 9 too. Similar price point and I think the trigger is better.
Not sure I agree but I respect the opinion. For me the HK VP9 has been rock solid for 2 months now.
