Best training drills for CCW?
Looking for some structured drills to run at the range instead of just blasting. I've done the El Presidente before but want more.
What drills do you run regularly? Bonus if I can do them at an indoor range with limited movement.

Ball and dummy drill is my go-to for trigger control - have someone load snap caps randomly in your mag. For CCW specific stuff, try the 5x5 drill (5 shots in 5 seconds at 5 yards into a 5-inch circle). Also practice drawing from concealment if your range allows it. Most indoor ranges let you do this from low ready position.
Both great suggestions above. I always have my students run the FAST drill (First shot Accuracy Speed Test) and the 5-yard round up. For indoor ranges, focus on fundamentals - proper grip, sight alignment, trigger press. The USCCA has some good target drills in their materials too. Don't forget to practice reloads and malfunction clearance!
Ashley's right about ball and dummy - catches flinching every time. For CCW I always tell folks to practice the dot torture targets, mozambique drill, and work on shooting from awkward positions (one handed strong/weak side). After 22 years in LE, most gunfights aren't perfect Weaver stance scenarios. Also practice shooting fast then slow - stress inoculation is huge.
LOL I felt the same way. It gets better after a few weeks trust me.
+1 on this. My buddy had the same issue and switching to Vedder LightTuck fixed it for him.
Solid post. I've been thinking about the same thing lately. My Sig P365X has been my go-to but I'm always looking at other options.
I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you end up going with.
This is the content I come here for. Thanks OP.
