Best training drills for beginners?
Looking for some structured drills to run at the range instead of just blasting. I've done the F.A.S.T. test before but want more.
What drills do you run regularly? Bonus if I can do them at an indoor range with limited movement.

FAST is solid but try the Bill Drill - 6 shots as fast as you can on an 8" plate at 7 yards. Sub 2 seconds is the goal. Also love the 5-to-Go drill from Ben Stoeger's book. These translate directly to match performance and you can run them in any indoor bay. My Tanfo loves the Bill Drill lol
Ball and dummy drill is my go-to for new shooters - really exposes flinching issues. Also run the 5x5 drill (5 shots in 5 seconds at 5 yards into a 5-inch circle). Start slow and work your way up. For indoor ranges, try the dot torture target - keeps you honest on fundamentals without needing movement. Been using these for 20+ years training new officers.
I keep it simple - mozambique drill and failure to stop. Figure if SHTF I'm not gonna have time for fancy competition stuff. Practice drawing from concealment too if your range allows it. Most indoor ranges I've been to are pretty accommodating if you ask nicely.
Agree 100%. Had the exact same experience with my setup.
Dude same. I spent way too long researching before I just pulled the trigger and bought one.
I'd love to see some photos if you get a chance to post them.
