Gun show parking lot deals — anyone do this?
At the Wanenmacher Tulsa Arms Show I always see people buying/selling/trading in the parking lot. Is this legal in your state? I've seen some good deals out there but it feels weird.

Oh man, Tulsa parking lot is legendary! Totally legal in OK for private sales. I've found some killer ammo deals out there - guys who bought cases and changed their mind. Just be careful and trust your gut. If something feels off, walk away. The deals inside are usually just as good anyway if you know where to look.
I've done a few parking lot deals but tbh it makes me nervous. Legal in my state but you never know who you're dealing with. I prefer to stick to the tables inside where there's more accountability. That said, I did score a nice Ruger 10/22 for $180 in the lot once...
Wait, people actually do business in the parking lot?? I had no idea! I was so overwhelmed inside the show I didn't even think to look outside. Is this normal at most shows? Seems kinda sketchy to me but maybe I'm just not used to it yet...
Parking lot deals are totally legal here in Texas, long as it's private party to private party. I've picked up some nice Marlins that way over the years. Just be smart about it - meet in good lighting, check IDs, and know your local laws. Some of the best deals I've found were guys who didn't want to pay table fees inside.
Can you share more details on your setup? I'm trying to decide between a few options right now.
