Just started reloading — what a rabbit hole
Got a Lee single stage and all the basics. Loaded my first 49 rounds of .30-06 last month. Triple-checked everything.
Any tips for a beginner? Using Vihtavuori powder and Federal primers.

Lee single stage is perfect to learn on - that's what I started with 15 years ago. Vihtavuori is good powder but pricey, IMO Varget or H4350 are better bang for buck in .30-06. Start low and work up, keep detailed notes on everything. Get a good scale and double-check your powder charges. Also invest in case prep tools early - uniform primer pockets and consistent neck tension make a huge difference in accuracy.
Welcome to the rabbit hole! I don't reload much but my buddy who got me into silver stacking is big into it. Says it's just as addictive as buying shiny lol. You picked a solid starter setup from what I hear.
Good choice on the Lee setup! Been loading for 12+ years out here in West TX. Main thing - don't rush it, especially starting out. I see too many new reloaders trying to crank out volume before they understand the fundamentals. Work on consistency first, speed comes later. And yeah like brass_hound said, detailed notes are everything. I still log every load in my notebook.
Been there done that. Lesson learned the hard way for me too.
Welcome to the addiction lol. Your wallet will never recover.
I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you end up going with.
Not sure I agree but I respect the opinion. For me the Glock 43X has been rock solid for 8 months now.
Thanks for sharing. Been lurking for a while and this finally made me want to comment.
