Just started reloading — first impressions
Got a RCBS Rock Chucker and all the basics. Loaded my first 33 rounds of .308 Win yesterday. Actually easier than I thought.
Any tips for a beginner? Using IMR powder and CCI primers.

Welcome to the club brother! Loading your own gives you real independence from the system. That Rock Chucker will serve you well - built like a tank. Out here in West TX I load everything from .223 to .45-70. Start simple, work up slowly, and always double-check your powder charges. Safety first, freedom second!
Congrats on the first batch! I just got my RCBS single stage setup too. That first time you seat a bullet and it chambers smooth... man what a feeling. IMR is solid powder - which one you using? I went with 4064 for my .308 loads.
Nice choice on the Rock Chucker! Been loading on mine for 3 years now, usually after the family goes to bed. CCI primers are good to go. Pro tip - buy components in bulk when you find deals, powder and primers especially. Supply chain still gets wonky sometimes.
Rock Chucker is a great press, used one for years before upgrading. My advice - consistency is everything. Same powder charge, same seating depth, same crimp. Get yourself a decent scale if you haven't already. And start keeping a log book of your loads from day one, trust me on this.
Facts. I switched to the same thing about 12 months ago and it was a game changer.
Agree 100%. Had the exact same experience with my setup.
Been there done that. Lesson learned the hard way for me too.
