Dillon 650 vs 750 — worth the upgrade?
Running a Dillon 550 for 6 months and thinking about moving to a 750. I load about 1720 rounds a month, mostly .40 S&W. Is the progressive worth it at that volume?
What press are you running and how much do you load?

750 all day. I do most of my loading late at night after the family's asleep and the auto indexing is clutch when you're tired. Less chance of screwing something up. Been loading .40 on mine for 2 years - smooth as butter.
At 1720 rounds a month you're definitely in progressive territory. I run a 750 and love it - the auto indexing alone is worth it over the 550. Case feeder makes a huge difference too if you're doing that volume. I load about 2000 rounds of 9mm monthly plus .308 and 6.5CM for precision work. The 750 pays for itself pretty quick when you factor in time saved. Go for it.
That's solid volume right there. I'd say jump to the 750 - the auto indexing is a game changer. Been running mine for 3 years now and it's been rock solid. .40 S&W runs great through it too. You'll cut your loading time in half easy.
Man 1720 rounds a month... I'm still proud of my 200 rounds on the single stage lol. Sounds like you definitely need something faster than what I'm running. Can't help much with progressive advice but good luck with whatever you choose!
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
Been there done that. Lesson learned the hard way for me too.
