Mountain House review — honest take
Tried canned goods for the first time. Better than expected. Shelf life is way longer than canned which is the whole point.
Calorie count per serving is misleading on some brands. Worth the investment

Thanks for the review! I've been looking at Mountain House vs regular canned goods. The shelf life thing is huge for me since I'm just starting out and don't want to rotate stock constantly. How's the taste compared to like... normal food?
Mountain House is good but pricey. I mix it with cheaper options like rice/beans and regular cans. The freeze dried stuff is great for bug out bags though - way lighter. Just wish it wasn't $12-15 per pouch... adds up fast when you're trying to prep on a budget.
Been using Mountain House for years in our rotation. The calorie thing is real - some of those "2 serving" pouches are maybe 1 serving for an adult. But the 25+ year shelf life makes it worth it for long term storage. I keep about 30 days worth mixed with other stuff. Pro tip: buy during sales and stock up.
Anyone else run into this? I thought I was the only one.

Appreciate the honest review. Most people just hype everything up.
My two cents — don't overthink it. Just get what feels right in your hand and train with it.
