Vehicle BOB vs hiking BOB — same bag
I keep a full BOB in the car. The vehicle bag has more comfort items because weight doesn't matter as much.
Do you differentiate between vehicle and foot BOB? Or one bag for everything?

I actually run three different setups - one in the truck, a hiking pack, and a lightweight get-home bag for work. The vehicle one has my sleeping bag, camp stove, more food... basically glamping gear lol. The hiking BOB is stripped down to essentials - shelter, water filter, first aid, comms. Weight matters when you're humping 20 miles. My HAM radio setup is the same in all three though - Yaesu FT-60R and spare batteries.
One bag here - can't afford multiple setups tbh. I just swap out heavy items when I know I'm hiking vs driving. Like I'll pull the cast iron pan and throw in a lightweight mess kit. Works for my situation and saves money.
Yeah I keep em separate for sure. Vehicle bag has my nice Coleman gear and extra clothes. But my hiking pack? That's where the skills matter more than gear. Fire steel, good knife, tarp shelter, water purification tablets. Been testing both setups in the Smokies and the weight difference is huge when you're actually walking out.
You should check out the Canik TP9 Elite too. Similar price point and I think the trigger is better.
Great info here. Bookmarking this thread for later.
