Scope rings vs one-piece mount — does it matter?
Setting up my AK-47 with a Aimpoint PRO and debating ADM Recon vs a one-piece LaRue mount.
For a DMR build does the mount really matter that much? I feel like people overthink this.

On an AK platform I'd actually lean toward the ADM Recon. The modularity is nice and return to zero is solid - tested it multiple times on my VEPR. One-piece mounts are great for precision rifles but AKs can be finicky with side rail consistency. The Recon gives you more options if you need to adjust or swap optics. That said, both will hold zero fine for a DMR build - the AK's accuracy ceiling is probably your limiting factor before the mount is.
Tom knows his stuff on the technical side. For a newer shooter I'd say go with whichever one you can get a better deal on - both will do the job. The ADM is a bit easier to install if you're doing it yourself.
I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you end up going with.
