Mounting a red dot on a Glock 19 — worth it
Thinking about putting a Swampfox Liberty on my Glock 19. Need to mill the slide.
Is a pistol red dot worth it? I've heard it has a learning curve.

Been running a Holosun on my truck gun for 2 years now. Battery life is excellent and it's held zero through some pretty rough handling. Just make sure you get good co-witness sights as backup.
I've got an RMR on my G19 and love it for hiking. Faster target acquisition when you need it most. The learning curve is real though - practice drawing and getting on target, not just slow fire at the range.
Red dots on pistols are definitely worth it once you get past the learning curve - probably 500-1000 rounds to really get comfortable. Swampfox makes decent budget optics but consider a Trijicon RMR or Holosun 507C if you can swing it. More durable for carry use.
For precision shooting I prefer irons on pistols tbh, but for practical use the red dot has advantages. Just make sure your fundamentals are solid first - a red dot won't fix bad trigger control or grip issues.
This is the content I come here for. Thanks OP.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
