Mounting a red dot on a Glock 19 — which dot
Thinking about putting a Trijicon RMR on my Glock 19. It's optic ready already.
Is a pistol red dot worth it? I've heard it speeds up target acquisition.

Red dots on pistols take some getting used to but they're worth it once you adapt. For precision work the dot eliminates the need to line up front and rear sights. The RMR is solid - I'd go with the Type 2 if you're buying new. Just be prepared for a learning curve, especially with the presentation.
The RMR is the gold standard for pistol dots - I've reviewed probably 20+ pistol optics and it's still my go-to recommendation. Yes, they absolutely speed up target acquisition once you develop the presentation. The 3.25 MOA dot is perfect for most uses. Just budget for extra batteries and practice drawing to the dot religiously. The learning curve is real but worth it.
RMRs are bulletproof... literally ran one over with a truck once and it still held zero lol. They do speed up acquisition once you get the muscle memory down. I run them on most of my pistols now. Get the adjustable brightness model and maybe consider getting the slide milled properly rather than using a plate if you haven't bought it yet.
This thread is gold. Saving for reference.
Good looking out for sharing this deal. Just ordered one.
Facts. I switched to the same thing about 10 months ago and it was a game changer.
