Holosun vs Sig — is the price difference worth it?
Holosun 510C vs Sig Romeo5. The Holosun is half the price and seems to work just as well.
Is the premium brand worth it or is Holosun good enough? Not betting my life on it... wait, maybe I am

I don't know much about modern optics but isn't Holosun actually more expensive than the Romeo5? At least that's what I've seen at my LGS. But hey, if it's Chinese made vs American made, I'd go with the American option every time. Rather support our economy, you know?
Both are decent optics for what they are. The Romeo5 has been proven reliable and SIG stands behind their warranty. Holosun makes solid stuff too and their battery life is usually better. For a red dot you're not benchresting with, either will work fine. I'd worry more about the mount than the optic itself - get a quality mount and either one will serve you well. That said, if you're truly betting your life on it, step up to an Aimpoint or Trijicon. But for range use or HD backup, both the Romeo5 and 510C are gtg.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
Interesting take. I went the other direction and picked up a HK VP9 instead. No regrets so far but ask me again in 6 months.
I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you end up going with.
+1 on this. My buddy had the same issue and switching to PHLster Enigma fixed it for him.
