SBR vs pistol brace — what's the deal now
With all the legal back and forth I'm confused about where things stand. I have a 8 inch .300 BLK.
Waiting for SCOTUS. What are you guys doing?

Dave's right about the legal mess. From a gunsmith perspective, I'm seeing guys bring in braced pistols wanting them converted to SBRs just to be safe. The 300 BLK is perfect for SBR treatment anyway... that 8" barrel is sweet for that cartridge. I'd probably go the Form 1 route too if it were mine.
Right now it's a mess. The ATF guidance keeps changing and courts are all over the place. I've got clients asking me this daily. My advice? If you want an SBR, file the Form 1 now while you can. The brace rule is in limbo but at least with a proper SBR you know where you stand legally. I've processed probably 50+ Form 1s this year alone.
My wife would kill me if I bought another one but this is tempting lol
Great info here. Bookmarking this thread for later.
That's a steal at that price honestly. I paid way more for mine.
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
Interesting take. I went the other direction and picked up a Beretta 92X instead. No regrets so far but ask me again in 6 months.
