Scared to go to the range alone as a newbie
This might sound dumb but I'm anxious to go to the range by myself. I just bought a 1911 Government and haven't fired it yet. Never been to a gun range.
Is it normal to feel this way? Any tips for a first timer?

Totally normal! I was terrified my first time too lol. But honestly the range community is usually really supportive of new shooters, especially women. Call ahead and ask if they have an instructor available, or go during off-peak hours when it's less crowded. Once you get that first trip out of the way you'll wonder why you were so worried.
Oh wow I could have written this exact post! I was so anxious about my first range trip. What helped me was calling the range first and explaining I was brand new. They set me up with basic instruction and walked me through everything. Everyone was super patient. Now I love going to the range - it's my favorite stress relief!
You're definitely not alone in feeling this way! I was nervous too but it turned out to be no big deal. Maybe see if a friend can go with you the first time? Or ask the range if they have beginner-friendly times. Most ranges want new shooters to have a good experience so they'll take care of you.
Not dumb at all! I felt the exact same way. I was so nervous my first time but the range staff was super helpful. Just tell them you're new and they'll walk you through everything. Most gun people are really nice and willing to help. Just follow the safety rules and you'll be fine. The 1911 is a great gun btw.
+1 on this. My buddy had the same issue and switching to Bravo Concealment IWB fixed it for him.
Facts. I switched to the same thing about 3 months ago and it was a game changer.
