Constitutional carry — does it replace permits
With more states passing constitutional carry, what about reciprocity?. I live in TN which just passed it.
Seems like a good thing but what about traveling?

This thread is gold. Saving for reference.
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
Dude same. I spent way too long researching before I just pulled the trigger and bought one.
My wife would kill me if I bought another one but this is tempting lol
Not sure I agree but I respect the opinion. For me the HK VP9 has been rock solid for 2 months now.
Constitutional carry is fantastic but creates a patchwork of laws that's honestly a nightmare to navigate. TN's new law is solid but you absolutely need to understand the limitations. For travel, I always recommend clients maintain their permits - the reciprocity agreements are based on permit recognition, not constitutional carry. Also worth noting that some constitutional carry states have different rules for residents vs non-residents.
TN's constitutional carry doesn't eliminate your permit - you can still get one for reciprocity. Without a permit you're only legal to carry in TN and the handful of states that recognize permitless carry from other constitutional carry states. Most states still require you to have an actual permit for reciprocity agreements. I'd keep your permit if you travel much.
Hell yeah brother! Welcome to the club. Out here in west TX we've had it for a while now and it's been great. But like the other guy said, get your LTC anyway if you travel. I keep mine current just for crossing state lines. USCCA has a good app that shows reciprocity maps... changes all the time with new laws passing.
Back in my day you needed a permit everywhere lol. But seriously, keep your permit for travel. I still carry my old pre-64 Model 36 and having that permit makes crossing state lines so much easier. Don't want to get jammed up in some liberal state that doesn't recognize constitutional carry.
