Can I legally build my own AR?
Moving to FL and need to know if it's legal to build an AR from an 80% lower.
I've googled but getting conflicting info. Anyone know the actual law?

What Karen said is spot on. Florida doesn't have additional restrictions beyond federal. Just remember the 80% has to actually be 80% - some of those "80%" lowers online are actually like 95% complete which gets into sketchy territory legally speaking.
Yes, 80% lowers are still legal to complete in Florida as of now. No state registration required, just follow federal rules - must be for personal use, can't sell without proper licensing, etc. But keep an eye on legislation - things change fast. Also make sure you're compliant on any NFA items if you go that route.
Florida is still good to go on 80%s. Built several myself down here in Texas before moving. Just don't cross state lines with anything questionable and know your local laws too. Some counties/cities try to be cute with their own rules even when the state allows it.
My two cents — don't overthink it. Just get what feels right in your hand and train with it.
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
