Home defense setup — what's yours?
Here's my current HD setup: - Bedside: S&W M&P Shield Plus with a no light yet - Hallway: Maverick 88 with birdshot first then buck
Wife knows how to use both. What does your setup look like?

Anyone else run into this? I thought I was the only one.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?

LOL I felt the same way. It gets better after a few weeks trust me.
Solid setup but ditch the birdshot for HD. You want immediate stopping power - #1 buck or 00 buck all the way. Birdshot might not penetrate heavy clothing reliably. Also get a light on that Shield Plus ASAP. Streamlight TLR-7 sub is perfect for that gun. Can't shoot what you can't identify in the dark.
Good foundation but yeah, upgrade time. Light on the pistol is critical - I run a Surefire X300 on my bedside Glock. For the Maverick, consider a side saddle for extra shells and maybe a red dot if your budget allows. Federal Flight Control 00 buck is my go-to... tight patterns and reliable feeding. Skip the birdshot completely.
