Home defense setup — what's yours?
Here's my current HD setup: - Bedside: Glock 43X with a Streamlight TLR-1 - Hallway: Winchester SXP with birdshot first then buck
Should I get a suppressor for HD?. What does your setup look like?

Can you share more details on your setup? I'm trying to decide between a few options right now.
Anyone else run into this? I thought I was the only one.

Good start but few things... TLR-1 is solid but that's a full size light on a compact gun, might be overkill. Also agree on ditching the birdshot - you want Federal FliteControl or Hornady Critical Defense buckshot. Suppressor for HD is debatable, adds bulk but saves your ears. I run a Benelli M4 with Surefire and a Glock 19 with TLR-7A.
Solid setup. I'd swap that birdshot for all buckshot though - you want to stop the threat, not pepper them. For HD suppressor... honestly might be worth it for hearing protection but don't count on it being quiet like the movies. My setup is a Beretta 1301 with a light and my bedside is a Sig P320 with night sights. Keep it simple.
Suppressor for HD is interesting... been thinking about that myself. Main benefits would be protecting your hearing and your family's if you had to use it indoors. But you're looking at adding 6+ inches to your gun and the weight. How's the balance on that SXP with a can? Worth looking into a short can like a SiCo Omega 36M maybe?
This is really helpful to read everyone's setups! I'm still figuring mine out as a single mom. Right now just have a Ruger LCR in the nightstand but thinking about a shotgun. Is a pump action hard to learn? Don't want something too complicated if I'm stressed out in the dark.
