HD ammo choice — Hornady Critical Defense vs what?

Speer Gold Dot is solid choice - we used it on the job for years. Consistent expansion, good penetration. But honestly for HD I'd lean toward Hornady Critical Duty over Critical Defense. The Critical Defense is more for shorter barrels and concealed carry. For a full size M&P, Critical Duty will give you better performance. Federal HST is another top tier option.
Can't go wrong with Gold Dot. I run Federal HST 124gr in my Glocks and Speer in my M&Ps. Both have proven track records. The key is whatever you choose, practice with it so you know your POI. HD ammo can shoot different than range FMJ.
Can you share more details on your setup? I'm trying to decide between a few options right now.
