HD ammo choice — Hornady Critical Defense vs what?
For my Beretta 92X I'm running Hornady Critical Defense for home defense. Should I switch?.
What defensive ammo are you guys trusting your family's life to?

Critical Defense is solid ammo, been using it in my duty gun for years before I retired. The FTX bullet design does what it's supposed to do - expands reliably even through barriers. For the 92X you really can't go wrong with it. That said, I've also seen great performance from Federal HST and Speer Gold Dot +P. Whatever you choose, make sure you run at least a few mags through your gun to verify function. Can't tell you how many times I've seen guys grab defensive ammo off the shelf and never test it.
Not really my wheelhouse since I'm usually more worried about what's lurking in the woods than home invaders lol. But from what I've read Critical Defense should do the job just fine. Main thing is you know your gun works with whatever you pick and you can hit what you're aiming at when the adrenaline's pumping.
Good looking out for sharing this deal. Just ordered one.

This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
That's a steal at that price honestly. I paid way more for mine.
Dude same. I spent way too long researching before I just pulled the trigger and bought one.
