Winchester Model 70 build — first time, need advice
Building my first AR-10 from scratch. Got my PSA lower and now picking parts. Budget is sky's the limit.
Where should I spend the most? BCG seems like the consensus but curious what you all think.

Hold up - you said Winchester Model 70 in the title but AR-10 in the body? Assuming you meant AR-10... definitely spend on the barrel first, then BCG. I'd go with a Criterion or Proof Research barrel and an LMT or JP enhanced BCG. Don't cheap out on the trigger either - Geissele SSA-E is worth every penny.
BCG and barrel are where your money should go first, agreed. But honestly if budget isn't a concern, get everything quality from the start. Cry once philosophy. I've seen too many builds where guys cheap out on one component and it becomes the weak link in an otherwise solid rifle.
You should check out the Glock 19 too. Similar price point and I think the trigger is better.
I'm in the same boat. Let me know what you end up going with.
This thread is gold. Saving for reference.
Interesting take. I went the other direction and picked up a Beretta 92X instead. No regrets so far but ask me again in 6 months.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
