Tikka T3x build — first time, need advice
Building my first PCC from scratch. Got my Anderson lower and now picking parts. Budget is $800 total.
Where should I spend the most? Trigger seems like the consensus but curious what you all think.

Great info here. Bookmarking this thread for later.
Wait... you said Tikka T3x but then mentioned Anderson lower? Think you mean AR build not bolt gun. For $800 total on an AR I'd go: decent BCG ($120), good trigger like LaRue MBT-2S ($100), and spend the rest on barrel. Trigger makes the biggest difference in feel but a crap barrel will never shoot straight no matter what.
For HD/general use I'd prioritize: 1) Barrel 2) BCG 3) Trigger 4) Everything else. Get a good 16" midlength from BA or Faxon, solid BCG, and you'll have a reliable shooter. Can always upgrade furniture and accessories later but the core components are what matter most.
Yeah definitely sounds like AR build not Tikka. For $800 I'd do: Anderson lower, Aero upper receiver, Ballistic Advantage barrel ($180), Toolcraft BCG ($110), LaRue trigger ($100), and basic furniture. Skip the fancy stuff for now and put money into barrel and BCG - those are your accuracy/reliability components.
Agree with the others on trigger importance. Just finished my first build and went with a basic milspec trigger... definitely regretting that now. The difference between my buddy's LaRue and mine is night and day. Also don't cheap out on the barrel - learned that one the hard way too.
