What got you into firearms?
Curious how everyone here got started. For me it was my uncle taking me to the range when I was 13. Shot a Henry .30-30 and was hooked. Been 30 years and I still get excited every range trip.
What's your origin story?

Army got me started obviously - M16A1 in basic back in '78. But what really hooked me was competitive shooting after I got out. Started with service rifle matches and never looked back. 24 years in the service plus 30+ years civilian shooting... still learning new stuff all the time lol.
Started with coins actually - inherited some Morgan dollars from my grandfather. That led to precious metals which led to wanting to protect them... which led to firearms. Been 20 years now and both hobbies feed each other. Plus gun shows are great for finding silver deals between the ammo vendors.
Great topic. For me it was teaching hunter safety courses in the 80s - had to get comfortable with firearms to do the job right. Ended up falling in love with the precision and discipline required. Been helping new shooters ever since. There's something special about that first time someone hits their target and gets that huge grin.
Buddy took me shooting about 10 years ago and I was terrible. Like embarrassingly bad. But something about it just clicked and I kept going back. Nothing fancy - just weekend trips to the outdoor range with my Ruger 10/22. Simple stuff but I love it.
