What got you into firearms?
Curious how everyone here got started. For me it was my buddy taking me to the range when I was 13. Shot a PSA PA-15 and was hooked. Been 25 years and I still get excited every range trip.

Navy taught me to shoot but it was my grandfather's 1911 that made me a collector. He carried it in WWII and when he passed it down to me I started researching the history. Been collecting pre-war Colts and S&Ws ever since. Something about that craftsmanship you just don't see anymore.
Army got me started in '78 with the M16A1. Hated it at first - thing was always jamming. But I grew to appreciate good marksmanship over 24 years of service. Retired and bought my first civilian AR in 2003. Now I've got more guns than my wife wants to count lol.
Dad took me shooting when I was 12 out in the desert east of Phoenix. Started with a beat up .22 bolt gun plinking cans. Moved up to his old AR-15 a few years later and I was hooked. Still go out to that same spot sometimes - it's amazing how much the area has grown up around it.
Honestly? 2008 financial crisis got me thinking about self-reliance. Started with a basic shotgun for home defense, then a pistol, then... well you know how it goes. Don't consider myself a gun guy really but I appreciate having options when things get weird.
Gonna have to respectfully disagree here. I've seen too many people have issues with that.
Good looking out for sharing this deal. Just ordered one.
