What do you wish someone told you when you started?
If you could go back and tell beginner-you one piece of advice, what would it be? Mine: "buy once, cry once." Wasted so much money on cheap stuff before figuring out what actually works.

Start with safety and never compromise on it. I've seen too many new shooters get excited about their first gun and skip the boring stuff. Learn the four fundamental rules, take a basic class, and practice dry firing at home before you ever touch live ammo. Also - find a mentor who can watch your technique and correct bad habits before they stick.
Haha yeah "buy once, cry once" is solid advice. Mine would be: learn to shoot before you worry about gear. Spent years chasing equipment thinking it would make me better when really I just needed more trigger time and proper fundamentals. A $300 rifle with good technique beats a $3000 rifle with bad habits every time.
Basic marksmanship fundamentals - sight alignment, trigger control, breathing, follow through. Everything else is just bells and whistles until you master those four things. Too many guys think they need the latest optic or trigger when they're still jerking shots all over the paper. Train like your life depends on it because someday it might.
Don't get caught up in caliber wars and brand loyalty right away. Figure out what YOU need first. I wasted money on a bunch of different platforms before realizing I just needed one good rifle and one good pistol that I could run well. Master what you have before moving on to the next shiny thing.
Solid post. I've been thinking about the same thing lately. My Walther PDP has been my go-to but I'm always looking at other options.
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
Thanks for sharing. Been lurking for a while and this finally made me want to comment.
My wife would kill me if I bought another one but this is tempting lol
