Is the S&W M&P Shield Plus still worth buying in 2026?
Been eyeing a S&W M&P Shield Plus for a while. I know it's been out for a few years now. Still a good buy or are there better options at the same price point? Budget is around $399. Mainly for home defense.

My two cents — don't overthink it. Just get what feels right in your hand and train with it.
The Shield Plus is solid for home defense imo. I've got one as a backup to my main setup and it's been reliable through 2000+ rounds. At $399 you're getting good value - just make sure you budget for a light and extra mags. For home defense though, have you considered a shotgun? More stopping power and easier to hit what you're aiming at under stress.
Yeah man, Shield Plus is still a good choice. I picked one up last year and love it. Trigger's decent out of the box and it eats whatever ammo I feed it. That $399 price point is tough to beat for what you get.
