Is the S&W M&P 2.0 still worth buying in 2026?
Been eyeing a S&W M&P 2.0 for a while. I know it's been out for a few years now. Still a good buy or are there better options at the same price point? Budget is around $399. Mainly for range fun.

The M&P 2.0 is still a great gun - S&W really improved the trigger from the original. At $399 that's about right for the market. Ergonomics are excellent and they run all day long. I usually recommend them to new shooters because they're forgiving and parts/accessories are everywhere.
Yeah the 2.0 is gtg. I've put probably 3k rounds through mine with zero issues. Trigger is way better than the original M&P. For $399 I'd jump on it if it's in good shape... that's fair market price right now.
Can't help ya much on the plastic fantastic side of things... but $399 seems reasonable for an M&P 2.0. They're reliable guns from what I hear. Personally I'd probably look for a used revolver in that price range but that's just me being old fashioned lol.
M&P 2.0 is a solid choice. I've shot them and they're reliable, decent triggers out of the box. At $399 you're in good territory - seen them for $350-450 depending on sales. Other options would be a Glock 19 gen 4 used, maybe a CZ P-10C if you can find one. But honestly the M&P will serve you well for range fun.
I had the opposite experience honestly. But everyone's different I guess.
This thread is gold. Saving for reference.
My wife would kill me if I bought another one but this is tempting lol
