$599 for a new 1911? What brand? If it's a decent manufacturer like Springfield or Ruger that's a solid deal these days. I picked up a Springfield Mil-Spec last year for around $650 and felt good about it. Market's been weird on 1911s lately.
Depends on the brand but $599 for new sounds decent. I've been seeing basic 1911s in the $650-750 range lately. If it's Rock Island or similar entry level that's about right. Springfield or better and you're doing well. What manufacturer?
