12 gauge prices — where are they headed?
5.56 NATO seems to be finally dropping lately. I'm paying about $0.32/rd when I can find it. Time to stock up?.

Been tracking prices on ammoseek daily and yeah, 5.56 is definitely trending down. Grabbed 5k rounds of IMI M193 for $0.28/rd shipped a couple weeks ago. 12 gauge though... oof. Still paying $1.70+ for decent buckshot. Time to stock deep while 5.56 is dropping but 12 gauge might take a while longer.
12 gauge has been pretty steady around here in the Midwest. Seeing 00 buck at shows for $1.50-$2.00 per round depending on brand. Target loads are cheaper - maybe $0.85-$1.10 for basic stuff. Haven't seen much movement either direction lately, tbh. 5.56 is definitely coming down though.
Just scored 1000 rounds of Wolf Gold 5.56 for $290 at the Tulsa show last month - that's $0.29/rd which is the best I've seen in ages. 12 gauge is still rough though, especially premium loads. Basic birdshot is coming down a bit but defense loads are staying high. Keep an eye on the smaller vendors at shows, they sometimes have better prices than the big guys.
Been paying around $0.35-$0.38 for decent 5.56 at my LGS. Found some Federal XM193 last weekend for $0.31 which felt like a win. 12 gauge... man that stuff has stayed expensive. $1.80 for basic 00 buck last time I bought some.
That's a steal at that price honestly. I paid way more for mine.
Interesting take. I went the other direction and picked up a Sig P365X instead. No regrets so far but ask me again in 6 months.
