Match gun upgrade — 2011 worth it?
Currently shooting a Beretta 92X in Limited division. Thinking about upgrading to a Staccato P for about $1,200.
Will a better gun actually make me faster or should I just train more with what I have?

My wife would kill me if I bought another one but this is tempting lol
How long have you had yours? Any reliability issues?
I made the jump from a 92FS to a Staccato C2 last year and it was night and day difference. The grip angle and trigger reset made me more consistent right away. But Bill's right - dry fire is where you'll see the biggest gains. I'd say if you can afford it without hurting your ammo budget, go for it. You'll enjoy shooting more and that keeps you practicing.
The 2011 will definitely help your splits and transitions - better trigger, less muzzle flip, easier to drive hard. But honestly at $1200 you're looking at entry-level 2011s that might not be a huge jump from your 92X. I'd save up another grand and get a proper Atlas or Infinity if you're serious about going fast. That said, dry fire practice will drop your times more than any gun upgrade right now.
