First USPSA match — hooked
Shot my first USPSA match Sunday with my CZ P-01. Came in dead last but had an absolute blast.
Stage planning is everything. Why didn't I start sooner?

Welcome to the addiction lol! CZ P-01 is a solid choice for USPSA Production. Stage planning comes with time - I'm B-class now and still mess it up sometimes. Pro tip: walk through stages multiple times and visualize your reloads. My Shadow 2 spoiled me but that P-01 will serve you well. Don't worry about placement, focus on safe runs and the times will drop naturally.
Congrats on your first match! Don't worry about coming in last - we've all been there. I prefer IDPA personally but USPSA is great for working on speed. The CZ is a fantastic platform. Make sure you're getting good coaching on draw and transitions - that's where most time is made up. And definitely keep shooting, the community is addictive in the best way.
USPSA's fun but have you tried any vintage matches? I love running my 1911A1 in the vintage divisions when they have them. Different vibe entirely... but yeah, stage planning is key no matter what you're shooting.
I run a similar setup and it's been flawless. Good choice.
