3-Gun setup — what are you running?
Getting into 3-Gun this year. My current setup: - Pistol: HK VP9 - Rifle: Henry .30-30 with Primary Arms SLx - Shotgun: Stoeger M3000
Am I missing anything?. Budget for upgrades is $388.

Yeah like Bill said, that lever gun won't work. You need semi-auto rifle for 3-gun. With your budget maybe look at a used AR or even a Ruger Mini-14 if you can find one cheap. The HK is great though - I run a CZ but VP9s are solid. What division are you planning to shoot?
That Henry .30-30 is gonna be rough for 3-gun... you need semi-auto for rifle stages. Look at a basic AR-15 - Palmetto State Armory has decent builds around $500-600. Your VP9 is solid for Production division. The Stoeger should work fine but consider a magazine extension if allowed in your division.
Not really my wheelhouse since I'm more precision focused, but from what I've seen you definitely need a semi-auto rifle. Maybe consider a basic AR platform? The accuracy standards aren't as demanding as benchrest so you don't need to break the bank on a custom build.
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
Agree 100%. Had the exact same experience with my setup.
