For me it's my CZ P-01. Saved my life once. Everything else could go but that one stays.

You should check out the 1911 Government too. Similar price point and I think the trigger is better.
Interesting take. I went the other direction and picked up a Kimber Micro 9 instead. No regrets so far but ask me again in 6 months.

That's a hell of a reason to keep a gun. For me it's my grandpa's 1943 Garand - first gun he taught me to shoot with when I was 12. Could never part with that one, too many memories and family history tied up in it.
Wow, glad your CZ was there when you needed it! That's exactly why I'm getting into this hobby. For me it'll probably be my first gun - a Glock 19 I just picked up. Nothing super special but it's MY first, you know?
My 1943 Springfield M1 Garand. Brought it back from a Pacific theater vet's estate and it's got character you can't buy new. Been offered stupid money for it but nope... some things aren't for sale. Your CZ story is exactly why we carry - glad it was there when you needed it.
