Milsurp haul — Mauser update
Added a K98 Mauser to the collection. Got it at my LGS for $627. Bore is bright.
Who else collects milsurp? Prices keep climbing.

That's a beautiful rifle! I'm still pretty new to guns but love seeing the history behind these old military rifles. Are they expensive to shoot? Been thinking about getting something with more range than my Glock but not sure where to start.
Nice pickup! $627's not bad for a K98 with a good bore these days. I've got about 8 Mausers in the collection - mix of K98's, Yugo M48's, and a Swedish M96. You're right about prices climbing... stuff I bought for $300-400 five years ago is going for $600+ now. What manufacturer markings you got on that K98?
Beautiful rifle. Carried one of those in basic training back in '72 - well, the training version anyway. Prices are insane compared to what they used to be. I remember surplus Mausers going for under $100 back in the day... but that bright bore makes it worth it. Should shoot great with some good handloads.
Milsurp's addictive man. Got a few Mausers and Mosins myself. That's a decent price for a K98 with a good bore - seen them going for $700+ at gun shows lately. Do you reload for it? 8mm Mauser's not cheap to feed with factory ammo but it's a joy to handload for.
Dude same. I spent way too long researching before I just pulled the trigger and bought one.
Agree 100%. Had the exact same experience with my setup.
Facts. I switched to the same thing about 8 months ago and it was a game changer.
