Storing bullion — bank?
Where do you store your stack? Split between locations. I've got about 10 oz gold and want quick access.
What's your storage setup?

Home safe all the way for me. Bank boxes have too many restrictions - what if there's a bank holiday or emergency and you need access? I've got a decent fire safe bolted down in the basement. Keep some constitutional silver in there too since it's easier to trade in small amounts. For 10oz gold I'd probably do a mix though - maybe half at home, half in a private vault facility if you have one nearby. They're usually cheaper than bank boxes anyway.
I keep mine split between a small safe at home and a safety deposit box at the bank. The stuff I might need to access quickly (mostly silver) stays in the home safe, and my gold goes to the bank box. 10oz gold is serious money though - I'd definitely want that in a bank vault personally.
Man I barely have enough to worry about storage lol. Got maybe 3oz silver sitting in a drawer somewhere. But my dad keeps his stuff in one of those private vault places - says it's better than banks because they don't report to the feds like banks do.
Split storage is smart but I avoid banks completely. Too much government oversight and they can freeze access whenever they want. I use a combination of a good home safe (liberty presidential series) and a private depository about 45 minutes away. The private vault costs me $180/year for a decent sized box and I can access it 6 days a week. With 10oz gold you're looking at $20k+ so definitely worth paying for proper storage. I sleep better knowing it's not in some government-monitored bank box.
This is the content I come here for. Thanks OP.
Great info here. Bookmarking this thread for later.
I had the opposite experience honestly. But everyone's different I guess.
Gonna have to respectfully disagree here. I've seen too many people have issues with that.
