Road trip CCW — reciprocity question
Planning a trip from TN to OH and trying to figure out where I can carry. Have a GA permit. Reciprocity maps are confusing.
Anyone done this route armed? States I need to lock up for?

TN to OH with GA permit... you're good through Tennessee obviously. Kentucky recognizes GA permits so you're covered there. Once you hit Ohio though you need to lock it up - they don't recognize GA at all. I'd double check the current laws but that's been my experience driving that route. Pain in the ass but better safe than sorry.
Did almost this exact trip last summer! Georgia permit gets you through TN and KY no problem. But yeah, Ohio doesn't play nice with GA permits so lock box time once you cross that state line. I keep a small safe in my trunk for exactly this reason. USCCA app is pretty good for checking reciprocity on the road btw.
This is exactly why I joined this forum. Good discussion.
Solid post. I've been thinking about the same thing lately. My HK VP9 has been my go-to but I'm always looking at other options.
Gonna have to respectfully disagree here. I've seen too many people have issues with that.
