Road trip CCW — reciprocity question
Planning a trip from TX to FL and trying to figure out where I can carry. Have a AZ permit. Reciprocity maps are confusing.
Anyone done this route armed? States I need to lock up for?

TX to FL with AZ permit should be mostly good but you'll need to check Louisiana - I think they don't honor AZ. Also watch out for any stops in cities that have their own rules even if the state recognizes your permit. I always use the USCCA app to double check before road trips.
Louisiana for sure, and watch out if you're going through any major cities. Some have their own ordinances even in gun-friendly states. New Orleans is particularly tricky. I keep a lockbox bolted in my truck for situations like this - makes the transitions easier.
Louisiana doesn't recognize AZ permits, you'll have to lock it up there. Everything else on that route should be fine but double check the current reciprocity - stuff changes. Also make sure you know the local carry laws, not just reciprocity. Some states are constitutional carry now but still have weird rules for non-residents.
Yeah Louisiana is the problem child on that route. I drive that way sometimes and always have to secure everything before crossing into LA. Pain in the ass but better safe than sorry. Rest of the route is good to go with AZ permit.
I run a similar setup and it's been flawless. Good choice.
My two cents — don't overthink it. Just get what feels right in your hand and train with it.
